GDPR Compliance
Last updated: February 2026
Overview
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects the personal data and privacy of individuals in the European Union. LucidRead is designed to be fully GDPR compliant.
Data Controller
LucidRead is developed by Jim Tyler. Because LucidRead does not process personal data, the traditional data controller/processor framework does not apply in the conventional sense.
Personal Data Processing
LucidRead does not process any personal data as defined by the GDPR.
- No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted
- No data profiling or automated decision-making
- No cross-border data transfers
Legal Basis
Because no personal data is processed, no legal basis for processing is required under Articles 6 or 9 of the GDPR.
Data Subject Rights
While LucidRead does not hold any personal data, we respect the following GDPR rights in principle:
- Right to Access: No personal data exists to access
- Right to Rectification: No personal data exists to correct
- Right to Erasure: You can clear extension preferences via Chrome settings
- Right to Portability: Preferences can be exported from the extension settings
- Right to Object: You can disable or uninstall the extension at any time
International Transfers
No data is transferred internationally because no data is collected. Preferences stored via chrome.storage.sync are managed by Google's Chrome Sync infrastructure, subject to Google's own privacy policies.
Data Protection Officer
Given the zero-data architecture, a formal DPO appointment is not required. For data protection inquiries, contact jim@tapspeak.org.
