Our Commitment

LucidRead is an accessibility tool, and we hold ourselves to the highest standard of accessible design. We are committed to ensuring that both this website and the LucidRead browser extension are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

Standards

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Website Accessibility Features

This website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Tab, Enter, Escape, and arrow keys work throughout the site.
  • Skip Link: A "Skip to main content" link is available on every page to bypass navigation for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • Screen Reader Support: Semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA labels, ARIA landmarks, and proper heading hierarchy are used throughout.
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus outlines appear on all interactive elements when navigating with a keyboard.
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Responsive Design: The website is fully responsive and works on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops of all sizes.
  • Reduced Motion: Animations and transitions are disabled when the user has enabled "prefers-reduced-motion" in their system settings.
  • Semantic Markup: Proper use of headings, lists, navigation landmarks, and content structure for assistive technology.
