Cookies Policy

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or login status. They are widely used across the web to make sites function properly and to provide information to site owners.

Cookies Used by This Website

This website stores only one item in your browser's localStorage: your cookie consent preference. This remembers whether you have accepted or declined cookies so the consent banner is not shown on every page visit.

That's it. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies on this website.

Cookies Used by the Extension

The LucidRead browser extension does not use cookies. It uses Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API to save your preferences (font choices, color settings, enabled features, profiles, etc.) and chrome.storage.local for per-page data (highlights, sticky notes, annotations). These are Chrome extension storage APIs — they are not cookies and are not accessible to websites. No website can read your LucidRead settings, and LucidRead cannot read any website's cookies.

Third-Party Cookies

None. Neither this website nor the LucidRead extension sets, reads, or uses any third-party cookies. We do not use analytics services (such as Google Analytics), advertising platforms, or social media tracking pixels that would place cookies on your device.

Managing Cookies

You can clear your cookie consent preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site. In most browsers, you can do this through the developer tools (F12) under the Application or Storage tab, or by clearing site data in your browser settings. After clearing, the cookie consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
